Our Weekly Pulls, 9/28/11

All in all, this week’s assortment of comics is pretty standard, including: Sixth Gun, Incorruptible, Fear Itself: Hulk vs. Dracula, Kick Ass 2… waitagoddamnedminute… Why is their a Fear Itself tie-in with Hulk vs. Dracula? I don’t even know where Fear Itself is going anymore. I just give up.

I hear that they’re planning it as a lead in for Shattered Heroes: Frankenstein vs. Frankencastle, with a conclusion to the trilogy with Rise of the Fallen: Creature From the Black Lagoon vs. Magneto next year.

I’d like to mention one glimmer of reprinted hope that’s on the shelves this week, and I’m not talking about the 6th reprint of Kick Ass 2 #1. The last of Kirby’s experimentation with D.C. is shipping in hardback form this week with Kamandi #1!

Ooo and Ahh to the story of one of the last survivors of a post-apocalyptic Earth as Kamandi battles mutant animals in the savage wasteland that is New York! Will he survive? What caused the event that destroyed the world? Who does his hair? All of these questions and more… well, they won’t be answered because the book got canceled after about two years. Back on subject: it’s one of the best D.C. books that came out from that era, so give it a look.

Andy’s Pulls: All-Star Western #1, Amazing Spider-Man #670, American Vampire #19, I Vampire #1, Incorruptible #32, Journey Into Mystery #628, Kick-Ass 2 #4, Mighty Thor #6, New Mutants #31, Sixth Gun #15

Luke’s Take: Since Fear Itself lost me pretty much when it started, I don’t even have reference for most of the jokes. It’s events like that that have driven me to my current tastes in indie books. Due to this, my pulls are light but filled with goodness, like the first issue of the new creator-owned Bendis/Bagley collaboration Brilliant. Oh, and in case I haven’t said it enough before, GO BUY THE SIXTH GUN.Luke’s Pulls: Brilliant #1, Incorruptible #22, Mighty Thor #6, The Sixth Gun #15
